New York Fashion Week is one of the most highly-anticipated fashion events in the world. Every year, artists, celebrities, actors, actresses, and even athletes all want to be a part of it.
But this year was special. Perhaps more than ever before, at the recent New York Fashion week, the athletes were the show. NBA players, tennis stars, and even football players rocked the carpet or the runway looking like the models themselves.
These are some of the most stylish (or most striking) outfits from this year.
Serena Williams
Let’s start with an obvious one. Of course, none of us were surprised when we saw Serena Williams in a one-of-a-kind silver gown at the Vogue Show yesterday. After all, most of the outfits she wears on the court are one of a kind.
Serena has been taking the stage and stealing the spotlight again and again recently. Before the US Open, she announced her retirement from tennis. Then, she played her final match at the tournament after losing in the third round.
And now, she comes back into the spotlight looking like the spotlight herself. Nobody shines quite like Serena does.
Devin Booker
NBA star Devin Booker was spotted front row at the Marni show next to girlfriend Kendall Jenner. Although Kendall definitely stole the headlines at New York Fashion Week, we still think D-Book’s style deserves some recognition.
Is it just us, or does the baby pink suit him well? Whoever designs the Phoenix Suns’ jerseys, you may want to take some notes for next season.
Antonio Brown
One of the most talked-about appearances at the New York Fashion Week was Antonio Brown’s. He wasn’t seen on the red carpet or on the front row—he was walking the runway.
For those of you who don’t know, Antonio Brown is a former NFL player. And it seems now, without a football field to play on, he’s strutting on a runway instead. But, we don’t quite know what he’s wearing exactly.
Is it a jumper? Overalls? Is that a backpack hanging from behind him? Is it a dress? We would love some answers.
Jordan Clarkson
Last, but definitely not the least, was Jordan Clarkson’s appearance at Fashion Week. After stealing the spotlight during the FIBA’s fourth window, playing for Gilas, Clarkson again stole the show in New York.
Yes, that is a kilt.
Clarkson isn’t unknown for making some pretty bold outfit choices, but this one has to take the cake. Fans on Instagram had a lot to say about the outfit too.
We don’t know about you, but now we are really excited to see what outfit he’ll be wearing the next time he comes back to the Philippines.
