Taking after her athletic father, Juliana Gomez just won at the Thailand Open Fencing Championship last weekend.
Juliana Gomez, daughter of well-known actors Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, won a gold medal at the Thailand Open Fencing Championship last November 26.
The news of her victory broke when Richard Gomez posted about it on his Instagram.
“May you keep on winning and bringing more honor to the country,” Gomez wrote in the caption of his post.
Juliana clearly takes after her father. Not only is he a fencer himself, but he is also the president of the Philippine Fencing Association. In addition to this, Juliana used to play volleyball in college, which is also something that Richard himself used to do as well when he was studying at Arellano.
As two athletes, this is something that the two bond over as father and daughter. In particular, Juliana shared with GMA News last year that she has been learning more of the ropes to fencing through the guidance of her father.
Additionally, Juliana has been posting more and more about her fencing journey through her Instagram ever since late last year.
Through her training and under the guidance of her father, she seems to be thriving in this sport, especially now after bringing home a victory from Thailand.
