THE GAME 2022 AUG LIFESTYLE Paris Olympic2024 L

How much it would cost to watch the Paris 2024 Olympics?

Watching the Olympics live would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So humor yourself a little—how much would that actually cost?

Though still over a year away, the clock is slowly winding down on the Paris 2024 Olympics, and athletes all over the world are preparing themselves for the only-once-every-four-years event.

Sports fans should be preparing, too.

The Olympic committee has already released the full calendar of sports per event, with all 329 events scheduled from July 24 to August 11 in 2024.

Although it’s still over a year away, here’s what a trip to Paris in 2024 for the Olympics might look like.

Event tickets: From €24

If you’re reading this just for a laugh, we bet that price might actually make you consider going. Over a million tickets will be offered at €24, equivalent to about PHP 1,350.

According to the Olympic committee, they will be selling almost half of the general public tickets at €50 (around PHP 2,812) or less.

Not too bad a deal, especially if we’re talking about the Olympics.

Plus, the committee also announced that it will be the first time that viewers will get the chance to buy multi-ticket packages so you can watch up to three different events. A package like this would go for as low as €72 (around PHP 4,050).

However, it is important to note that not everyone can get a hold of these tickets. The host of the Games will be holding a draw. But, they do say that you can increase your shot at getting a spot by becoming a member of Club Paris 2024.

Now that you’re interested, let’s see how much it would take to fly there.

Flights: From $650

The host of the Games also announced that they will be offering a “Paris 2024 hospitality and travel programme“.

But, without the package, here’s a rough estimate of how much it would cost to fly to Paris.

If you were to book your flights a full year in advance, round-trip tickets can go as low as around $650 (around PHP 36,063). Of course, the price would still depend on the airline, schedules, and availability.

So if you’re looking for the best-case scenario, you can book way ahead to save on your flight tickets.

Accommodations: From PHP 3,000 a night

Similar to booking a flight, hotels are a lot cheaper if you book them ahead of time. And again, prices will always depend on your preferences on location, amenities, room size, and whatnot.

But, just humoring the idea itself, if you were to book a year in advance, you could find hotels in Paris worth as low as around PHP 3,000 per night.

How long you choose to stay in Paris will depend on the events you want to catch. But, just to make the entire trip worth your time and money, you’d probably stay for at least five days.

So for five days and four nights at the most affordable hotel, you’d be paying around PHP 12,000.

Your bill…

Now, let’s total everything.

If you were to maximize your stay and go for the bargain of €72 for the three-event package, that’ll be around PHP 4,050.

Book a year in advance, you could get a roundtrip flight for $650, or PHP 36,063.

And finally, stay for around five days and four nights, and you might be able to get a hotel for PHP 12,000.

With all that, it totals PHP 52,113.

Though this doesn’t account for other expenses like transportation, food, and shopping — not to mention the price increases to accommodate this huge event — this isn’t a bad price to start at if you’re talking about watching the Olympics in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
