Golf 101: Here Are Golf Courses You Can Play Without a Membership

Golf clubs can be exclusive, but the game itself doesn’t have to be. Here are some golf courses you can play in without a membership.

Golf is often seen as a very exclusive sport, especially since many of the most popular places you can play cater to members only. And especially if you’re just starting out, we can understand why you wouldn’t spend a fortune on a membership just yet.

But there are actually a lot of places within and close to Metro Manila where you can play without a membership. Here are a few you can consider for your next golf game.

Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club

If you’re a beginner, we can understand why you wouldn’t want to spend a fortune on playing right off the club. The Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Manila and it is also one of the more affordable ones to play at—especially given its accessible location.

One of the most affordable golf courses is Camp Aguinlado Golf Club's.

Camp Aguinaldo sits right along EDSA right next to Araneta Center. They have an 18-hole par 68 golf course with slopes, water hazards, and doglegs covering around 5,000 yards.

You don’t need a membership to play, and they also have a driving range available for when you want to get a little practice with your swing.

Their green fees start at around P775 depending on the day and time of the week you decide to go. In all, this place racks up to be a great course to come back to regularly.

Philippine Navy Golf Course

If location matters a lot to you, the Philippine Navy Golf Course is sitting right in Taguig waiting for you.

With a view of the military base’s landscape to marvel at as you play, this course is not just located in a convenient spot, it’s also very scenic too.

It is an 18-hole par 70 golf course with wide fairways, making it generally more forgiving than other courses—perfect for a beginner trying to improve their play.

And even though the Philippine Navy has its own golf club, its course is still open to the public. Their rates start at around P800 depending on the time of the week you decide to play.

Plus, if you decide you love playing here, the best part is you can one day opt into a membership at their club.

Villamor Golf Course

The golf course located in the Villamor Air Base is one of the most popular golf courses in Metro Manila. They’ve been the host of the Philippine Masters tournament, they’re located right in the city, and have a good selection of amenities.

The air base has an 18-hole par 72 course with narrow fairways and in comparison to other golf courses, their course is relatively flatter. And with its location and terrain, it’s great for golfers who are looking for a quick game.

No membership is required at this one, and their green fees start at around P1,000. Since it is a very popular course, you should expect more people trying to get a tee time at this one too.

Club Intramuros Golf Course

One of the most historic golf courses, Club Intramuros is a landmark place to play in Manila. The course itself is considered historical, as it was built during the American occupation.

Their green fees start at around P1,600. Though it is pretty far from most other courses around the metro, it’s only about a 20-minute drive from Alabang. With its location and scenery, it’s definitely better for a day dedicated to being on the course.
